Regulatory Update: Funding Rollover |
We are pleased to confirm that the next qualification funding 'rollover' will occur during the autumn of 2023, as opposed to the previously scheduled date of spring 2024. 'Rollover' refers to the process through which the Department for Education (DfE) extends the funding commitment from the ongoing funding year into future years. This allows centres who rely on funding for their course to plan their future delivery. Read the DfE's Qualification funding approval: 2023 to 2024 manual here.
What does this mean for CPCAB funded qualifications?
CPCAB funded qualifications will be rolled over for a further year, until (at least) 31st July 2025. Therefore, protecting funding for new learners on these qualifications. Another funding rollover evaluation is expected in autumn 2024, which will confirm any additional funding for the 2025/26 funding year and will be tied to the implementation of the Lifelong Learning Loan program.
Please note the funding roll-over does not apply to the current Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, where funding ceases on 31st December 2023. A new alternative qualification will be available from 1st January 2024 as per our previous communications

Alternative Level 3 Qualification |
We are developing a fundable alternative Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies qualification. Following new requirements from the ESFA that all Level 3 qualifications need to offer 150 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) to retain funding, we are providing an exciting new offer to meet this requirement. This fundable alternative will be ready for centres to deliver from January 2024.
However, if you are happy delivering our current CST-L3 and your learners are not reliant on funding, rest assured that you can continue delivering the qualification as normal.
We'll be hosting some informative webinars to answer any questions you may have regarding this new L3 qualification. If you'd like to attend these webinars, please click here |
| Level 5 Award in Online & Phone Counselling Practice |

Learners will have the opportunity to start The Open University short courses from the 7th of Oct 2023. Registrations for the CPCAB qualification will open in Jan 2024.
We're looking forward to hosting an informative webinar this year that will offer you the chance to ask any questions you may have. Register your interest (see bottom of webpage) or contact Molly@cpcab.co.uk

Centre Finder Preferences |
At the start of each academic year, all of our recognised centres have their centre finder page refreshed to ensure the correct information is available for the upcoming academic year.
As CPCAB’s centre finder is a popular landing page for many prospective learners, it’s important that centre administrators log in to the CPCAB Portal and update their centre finder information as soon as possible.
If you need any further guidance on how to do this then please watch this short video. |
| Once you have registered your group(s) at the start of this term, our dedicated team of External Verifiers (EVs) will make contact with you to arrange their first visit of the year.
EVs will communicate details of the visit in advance. During the visit they will be reviewing internal centre processes, assessment levels, and that standards are understood and are being upheld by centres.
Please make note of our CPCAB EV visits - full guidance for centres and take some time to review the updated guidance provided in Part 5 to support the visits.
If you have any questions please contact our Quality Assurance Team. |
